About
I am a psychiatrist with psychoanalytic training and subspecialty expertise in Consultation-Liaison (Psychosomatic) Psychiatry. I have been in private practice since 2003.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in emergency departments, medical-surgical units, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, and intensive outpatient programs. These varied settings have shaped my ability to think clearly in complex situations and to care for patients across a wide range of clinical circumstances—from acute crisis to long-term psychological work.

I grew up and completed medical school in Romania before immigrating to the United States for residency training. Living and training within very different cultural, political, and economic systems broadened my understanding of how environment shapes psychological life. It deepened my interest in autonomy, responsibility, and the conditions that allow a person’s inner life to develop freely and coherently.
My formal training provided strong foundations in psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychosomatic medicine. Over more than twenty years of practice, my patients have continued to refine and deepen that education. Again and again, I have seen that meaningful change requires time, careful listening, and a willingness to understand complexity rather than reduce it.
I value careful thought, intellectual independence, and a willingness to question assumptions in clinical work.

For this reason, I have structured my practice to allow for thoughtful, unhurried psychiatric care. I value depth of communication, clarity of formulation, and collaboration. Whether the work involves psychotherapy, medication, or the interface between mind and body, my aim is to offer a steady, serious, and reflective space in which real understanding can take place.
